Welcome to the millenium gals! But is there really anything for us to smile about?
All around us men are happy. Grinning ear to ear while us, women are drowning in a sea of mascara and disappointment.
Men: ready machines. Ready to move on to the next big thing. Their next big pay raise. Their next big fuck. Their next big car. Their next big meal.
But us (single) women seem to be stuck in a back-bending limbo between happiness and utter demise. You know, that fuzzy, gray area between blowing a man for approval and screaming ‘feminism is not dead’? We’ve all been there (think back to Valentine’s Day 2000, am I right?) !
I, for one, think we can apply that famous nursery rhyme to adult life. Perhaps we must be cognizant that while women are made of sugar, spice and taking bad advice, men are mostly frogs, snails and chasing hot tail.
As I sat with my girlfriends Abby (Miranda), Maya (Charlotte) and Sophie (Samantha) I couldn’t help but wonder….
Who are we — Sluts? Romantics? Cynics? Where are we —-New York? Atlanta? Tokyo? And what do we want —-a hookup? A relationship? A companion?
In terms of love, are men really from Mars and are women just living in our dream world, Venus?
